Florida A&M softball is currently facing the Texas State Bobcats in an elimination game in the NCAA Tournament’s Gainesville Regional at the University of Florida’s Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
Both teams lost in their regional opening-round games on Friday, May 16, putting them in the first elimination game.
No. 6 national seed and regional host Florida run-ruled FAMU with a 12-0 victory in five innings. Texas State lost to Georgia Tech 2-1 in a down-to-the-wire matchup.
The winner of the Rattlers-Bobcats game will move on to another elimination game on Saturday, May 16, at 3 p.m. against the loser of Florida-Georgia Tech.
FAMU boasts the Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Year and team top hitter, Amari Brown. Texas State has the Sun Belt Conference’s Pitcher of the Year, Maddy Azua.
