While several members of the Miami Dolphins roster who hit free agency this offseason have already signed with other teams, there are still a few looking for their next opportunity.
One of those players still searching for a new team is defensive back Ifeatu Melifonwu, who is reportedly working out for the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday (via NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo).
Melifonwu, 27, spent four years at Syracuse and earned All-ACC honors once with the Orange before the Detroit Lions took him in the fourth round (No. 101 overall) of the 2021 NFL draft.
After four years in Detroit, Melifonwu joined the Dolphins last offseason on a one-year deal and went on to play 54% of the team’s defensive snaps in 16 games and recorded a career-high 53 tackles, one sack and one interception.
It’s unlikely that the Dolphins would want to bring Melifonwu back with a new regime and an overhauled defensive back group, so he’s looking for opportunities elsewhere. This workout comes just a week after he visited the Seattle Seahawks.
