Country music duo will perform Daytona's Coke Zero Sugar 400 pre-race concert

Just over two months until the Coke Zero Sugar 400, Daytona International Speedway unveiled its first celebratory guests.

On June 25, it announced Preston Brust and Chris Lucas will perform a concert before the Aug. 29 NASCAR race. The country music pairing goes by the name LOCASH.

“Bringing LOCASH’s bold country brand to the stage of Daytona will add even more energy to the regular season finale as they showcase their Platinum-selling hits and billon-stream success in the infield,” Speedway President Frank Kelleher said in a statement. “Their performance will be a perfect lead-in to the waving of the green flag as our drivers duke it out on the high banks to lock in the field for The Chase.”

Brust and Lucas founded LOCASH in 2008. They released their latest album, “Bet the Farm,” last year. It included the song “Hometown Home,” which peaked at No. 1 on the County Airplay chart. They reached the top of the same list with “I Know Somebody” in 2016.

The duo also owns their own record label — Galaxy Label Group.

“NASCAR and country music go hand and hand,” Lucas said in a statement. “We have always been fans and are fired up about playing the Coke Zero Sugar 400 pre-race. Let’s light it up!”

Following LOCASH’s performance, the Cup Series drivers will see the green flag at 7:30 p.m. The playoff field will be finalized by the results.
