What can Si Woo Kim do to follow up his masterful Round 2 at the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson? The 30-year-old from Korea shot an unreal 11-under 60 on Friday, going without a bogey until the 18th hole that left him inches shy of a 59.
Kim has four top-five finishes this year and is in great position to pick up his first Tour win since the season-opening Sony Open in Hawaii in 2023. At 18 under, he enters moving day with a five-shot lead over Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Sungjae Im and Kensei Hirata. Defending champion Scheffler and Jordan Spieth, right behind at 12 under, will look to gain ground on their home turf. Taylor Moore, who had the lead after Round 1, comes in tied with Zach Bauchou and others seven strokes back.
Keith Mitchell, Tony Finau and Tom Hoge are among those hoping the low scores from Friday roll into today, but Mother Nature could have something to say about that. Rain forecast to hammer the Dallas/Fort Worth area through the weekend hasn’t halted play yet, but expected storms did move today’s tee times into split-tee threesomes in the morning.
