Calusa Garden Club members learn palm leaf manipulation

On Jan. 12, Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island members and guests were treated to a demonstration of palm leaf weaving and braiding.

Mary Raimond, a flower show judge and member of Naples Garden Club, demonstrated her skill in weaving and braiding areca palm fronds. About 45 club members and 20 guests from the community worked along with Raimond to practice these skills.
