Florida and Kentucky will play for the series on Sunday in a Mother’s Day rubber match. Follow along here with Gators Wire for the score, live updates and highlights, starting at 10 a.m. ET.
The Gators took Game 1 of the series in comeback fashion, 6-5, walking it off in the ninth after erasing a 6-1 deficit in the eighth. Kyle Jones was the hero of that game, delivering the winning hit.
Florida couldn’t make magic happen for a second night in a row on Saturday, however, falling to Kentucky 4-2. The Wildcats got a complete game from starter Jaxon Jelkin, and Florida looked lifeless at the plate until the ninth. The game ended with the winning run on first.
Both games featured weather delays, which is the reason Sunday’s game is starting so early. So far, rain has pushed back start times a combined seven hours, so the Gators are moving things up from a noon start to try and get the rubber match in before the weather hits. Kentucky can’t sit through another delay due to travel restrictions.
