The Miami Dolphins have a fair strong running back room heading into 2026, with De’Von Achane, Jaylen Wright, Ollie Gordon II and Donovan Edwards all locked in for the year.
However, there are some intriguing prospects at the position in the 2026 NFL draft who could pique their interest, including Jonah Coleman.
Coleman, 22, played at Lincoln High School in Stockton, California, where he was a three-star recruit before he committed to Arizona. After two seasons with the Wildcats, he transferred to Washington, where he played another two years.
In 50 career games between the two schools, Coleman rushed for 3,054 yards and 34 touchdowns on 5.5 yards per attempt and caught 87 passes for another 838 yards and three scores. He also earned All-Big Ten honors in 2024.
ESPN’s Aaron Schatz recently compared Coleman to former Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi, who rushed for 2,546 yards and 13 touchdowns on 4.5 yards per attempt over his five seasons in the NFL. With mock drafts projecting him to go on Day 2, teams taking him would hope that his career is longer and more impactful than Ajayi’s was.
