Florida State softball begins its quest for a 20th ACC tournament title with a quarterfinal matchup against Georgia Tech on Thursday, May 7.
The Seminoles are the top-ranked team in the ACC tournament, and face a Yellow Jackets club that beat Notre Dame 13-3 in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday. The two programs meet in a three-game series in April, which FSU swept.
FSU enters the conference tournament with the ACC Coach of the Year in Lonni Alameda, ACC Player of the Year Isa Torres and the ACC Pitcher of the Year in Jazzy Francik. The Seminoles are looking to win a first conference tournament title since 2023.

FSU vs. Georgia Tech enters a rain delay in the third inning
The game has entered a rain delay in the bottom of the third inning. Light rain had fallen throughout the morning, but quickly intensified in the home half of the third inning, forcing the game into a pause.
According to an AccuWeather radar, there is a large storm cell moving south of Charlottesville, and they forecast 60% chances of rain in the area until 1 p.m.
The Seminoles have a runner on first base, and Jaysoni Beachum is at the plate with one out.

A lead-off triple from Georgia Tech’s Raegan Wall paid dividends as the Yellow Jackets opened the scoring on a sacrifice fly from Holly Medina.
Jazzy Francik got out of the inning with a ground ball after the sac-fly.
