3 Florida cities among 20 best mid-sized cities, one on Treasure Coast

Port St. Lucie was among three Florida cities that were listed on HGTV’s list of the 20 best mid-sized cities in the United States.

HGTV describes the cities as perfect for a city getaway, but not quite big cities like New York or Chicago.

The cities on the list range in population from 100,000 to 500,000 and include suburbs, capitals, college towns and even the largest cities in some states.

Why is Port St. Lucie one of the best mid-sized cities in the United States?

Port St. Lucie, a town of more than 200,000 residents, jumped in population size by 5% in one year, according to HGTV. The list also highlights Clover Park, the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, Savannas Preserve State Park, and Jensen Beach for quiet stretches of coastline.
