Summer may be upon us, but the activities and events aren’t taking a break anytime soon in the Coachella Valley.
June in the desert brings with it a number of sweet deals for foodies, plenty of chances to watch baseball and a number of exciting performers, including Shakira and Bob Dylan. The City of Palm Springs is also introducing a new arts and culture festival, while the McCallum Theatre is putting a spotlight on jazz.
Here’s what’s happening in the Coachella Valley during the month of June.
Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week
The annual Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week is in full swing with local eateries serving up delicious meals at special prices. Just some of the participating restaurants include: Café One Eleven in Cathedral City, Carnitas La Piedad in Coachella, Azure Palm Café in Desert Hot Springs, The Blushing Peony in Indian Wells, Jackalope Ranch in Indio, DSRT Club in La Quinta, Fisherman’s Grotto in Palm Desert, Churrasco Brazilian Steakhouse in Palm Springs and Si Bon Belgian Bistro in Rancho Mirage. Every reservation booked through the Visit Greater Palm Springs website will lead to $1 being donated to FIND Food Bank.

Palm Springs Power Baseball
Baseball season is in session in Palm Springs. The local team kicked off their season recently, and they’re prepared for a historic run toward their fourth straight California Premier Collegiate League championship. Ball games take place Tuesdays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays every week. Promo days are also available every week ($3 Draft Tuesday, $6 margaritas on Wednesday, free kids 12 and under admissions on Saturday).

CV Rep presents Jason Graae in ‘It’s a Graae Night for Singing’
The 2026 CV Rep Summer Cabaret Series promises the same thing the theater’s offered the last several summers: a packed lineup of award-winning singers, musicians, dancers and storytellers who will transport you away from the hot desert and into the heart of a theatrical adventure. So, who’s kicking it off? According to a theater press release, “The irrepressible and irresistible, award-winning actor, singer, dancer, and director Jason Graae returns to CVRep with his new show, ‘It’s A Graae Night For Singing!’ Color him Graasome! Music director/accompanist: Gerald Sternbach” on June 2. Note: This series, which runs throughout June and July, also includes Nita Whitaker on June 4, Bligh Voth on June 9, Jennifer Leigh Warren on June 11, Nicholas Rodriguez on June 16, Mark Arthur Miller on June 18, Joanne O’Brien on June 23 and Brent Barrett on June 25.

First Wednesday Art Walk
Head to the Backstreet Art District on Wednesday, June 3, for its monthly Art Walk. This year-round tradition gives visitors the opportunity to meet local artists, learn more about their work and see what various galleries have to offer. The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre has a full lineup of shows in June. Just some of the upcoming events include Ambrosia on June 5; “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on June 13; a performance from the Palm Springs Desert Winds on June 15; and the musical “42nd Street” on June 21.

City of Coachella Movies in the Park presents ‘Cars’
The Desert Recreation District partnered with the City of Coachella to bring free, family-friendly movies to the park every Friday night in May, and the series wraps up June 5. The last family friendly movie screening with feature “Cars,” the 2006 Disney film that, according to IMDb, tells the following story: “On the way to the biggest race of his life, a hotshot rookie race car gets stranded in a rundown town and learns that winning isn’t everything in life.” Note: All movie nights are subject to cancellation and reschedule if inclement weather becomes a safety concern.

Operation SPLASH
The entire Coachella Valley community is invited to kick off the summer season at Bagdouma Park in Coachella the first Saturday of June. Desert Recreation District and Kaiser Permanente will host free open swim, refreshments and a demo from Lenny the Landshark. Bring swimsuits and trunks for a busy day in the pool.

93rd Annual Palm Springs Firefighters Fish Fry
OK, fine. This one is an outdoor event in June. But it’s for a great cause. The Palm Springs Firefighters Association is inviting everyone to its annual fish fry, “a beloved community tradition” that brings the public together for “an afternoon of food, fun, and connection,” as organizers say. Come hungry and energized, because this event will feature freshly prepared fish, cold drinks, live music, and raffle prizes for attendees of all ages. In addition to food and fun, the occasion offers “community members the chance to meet and engage with their local firefighters in a relaxed and welcoming environment.”

You won’t want to miss comedic legend Jerry Seinfeld at Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage June 6. The funnyman has been on people’s television screens for decades, bringing one of the most successful comedy series to life with “Seinfeld” and making people laugh with various standup specials and films. Philippine Independence Day Celebration
June 7 will mark 128 years since the Philippines gained its independence from Spanish rule. To mark the occasion, the Family YMCA of the Desert will hold a free celebration, and the entire desert community is invited. The program includes a cultural talent show, national/regional traditional costume, Philippine history showing, trivia and a variety of Filipino foods and delicacies.

Indio Movie Night at Center Stage presents ‘Footloose’
It’s time for family movie night — but you’ll have to leave your couch for this one. Pack up the car with blankets and lawn chairs and head to downtown Indio for the latest Center Stage event, which will screen the original version of “Footloose.” Never seen it? As the IMDb synopsis reads, this film follows “A big city teenager moves to a small town where Rock and Roll music and dancing have been banned by backward local parents and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace.” Note: This event will offer free fresh popcorn to all attendees.

This summer brings the debut of XOXO Palm Springs, a new annual citywide celebration of arts and culture taking place June 11–22, 2026. 3rd Annual SHE is Women’s Conference
The third annual “SHE is” (“Sharing, Healing, Experience”) Women’s Conference, hosted by HIV+ Aging Research Project PS, returns June 13 as a resource for educating and empowering women living and aging with HIV. In the United States, nearly 270,000 women are living with HIV, and they accounted for about one in five new HIV diagnoses in 2022. However, stigma still remains. The conference will feature discussions surrounding women’s health, aging with HIV, body wellness, mental health, advocacy, stigma reduction, storytelling and long-term wellness. Open not only to women living with HIV but also to allies. Interested participants are asked to register online.

Musical Matinees: ‘Oliver!’

Summer camps at Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert
Parents or grandparents looking to keep their children occupied during the summer months can look to the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert’s summer camps. ‘Showstoppers – A Night of Songs that Stole the Show’
There’s something special about a song that can entirely change the mood of a whole room, and that’s exactly what the songs in this one-night-only event do. Head to Revolution Stage Co. for this unique show celebrating the “electrifying anthems and emotional ballads that bring audiences to their feet,” as organizers describe it. Presented as part of the inaugural XOXO Palm Springs Citywide Arts & Culture Festival, this event is produced by Revolution Stage Company’s own Greg Hicks – the very first winner of the theater’s Cabaret Riot competition. Palm Springs International ShortFest
The Palm Springs International ShortFest returns and promises another year of creative, whacky and insanely entertaining short films. This festival groups a handful of short films into one program, which can range from comedies and horror to truly out-of-this-world stories, and the best part is audiences never really know what they’re going to get with each one. The lineup has not been released as of Friday, May 29, so check back in with The Desert Sun at the start of June to see which films made the cut. All ShortFest screenings will take place at Festival Theaters.
