We asked Coachella Valley foodies which local food truck was their favorite and there was one clear winner: Tacos A Mar o Tierra.
The seafood taco truck received nearly 17,500 votes from the community, showing the valley loves a good bite into a delicious taco any day of the week. Tacos A Mar o Tierra is the brain child of Indio native Amaro Gutierrez, who was the executive chef at Tack Room Tavern and Cantina in Indio before going independent two years ago with the food truck and his own catering company Savour Concepts.
“I’m truly honored and humbled by this recognition,” Gutierrez said. “To be completely honest, I don’t personally believe there is one ‘best’ food truck in the Coachella Valley. We are incredibly fortunate to have so many talented operators throughout our desert. From places like Nick’s Pizza, The Reaper, Dog Father Catering and so many others, there are countless hardworking people out here serving amazing food and contributing to our local food culture every day.”
This desert food truck specializes in seafood tacos, but lately it’s gained traction for its Salsa Macha, which Gutierrez called their “passion project.” It can be purchased by the jar at tacosamarotierra.myshopify.com.
Tacos A Mar o Tierra does a lot of catering services and participates in numerous community events throughout the year. Check the truck’s Instagram account to see where it’ll be parked next at instagram.com/tacosamarotierra.
“Let’s keep pushing quality, creativity and hospitality for all of the foodies here in the desert,” Gutierrez said.
