The USC Trojans play the Illinois Fighting Illini in a huge Week 5 Big Ten football game. We asked our Southern California Football Roundtable panelists if Illinois losing by 53 to Indiana changed their view of Illinois.
Trojans Wire writer Adam Bradford wrote that “It changes my overall attitude about Illinois for sure. After their splattering against Indiana, I no longer view the Illini as a legitimate CFP contender. But they are still a very good team that is very much capable of beating USC on Saturday. If anything, the result makes me more nervous for the Trojans, as Illinois is going to be returning home with a massive chip on its shoulder after the embarrassing road loss.”
It will be fascinating to see if Illinois bounces back, and if USC can respond well in the event that the Illini play a strong first half. There’s a lot on the line in the final game of September.
