It has been seven years since the Ventura County Star broadcasted a sports podcast over the cyber-waves.
That long hiatus ends this fall. Welcome back to Prep Period.
VC Star sports fixtures Joe Curley and Danny Page first launched Prep Period back in 2017. Curley and fellow staff reporter Dominic Massimino have relaunched The Star’s aptly-named all-preps sports podcast this fall.
Our aim is to bring you the same first-rate reporting and expert analysis expected daily in the pages of The Star, wrapped up in a weekly podcast format that delivers all the info you need to know about high school teams, athletes and coaches in the 805.
The show kicked off this week, with Curley and Massimino breaking down what they have seen from local high school football programs ahead of the full launch of the high school football season on Friday, Aug. 22.
Which teams are up? Which are down? Will new coaches turn programs around? Who are the difference-makers that will shift league title races? Listen to find out.
