Troy Aikman helps out with UCLA's recruiting of QB Brady Edmunds

One legendary UCLA Bruins quarterback is helping the team trying to land their next QB, with Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman making a recruitment video for four-star 2027 recruit Brady Edmunds, who wrapped up his official visit with UCLA this weekend.

Edmunds is currently an Ohio State recruit but based on UCLA’s interest, and willingness to obtain Aikman’s help, that commitment is far from final. Edmunds, like Aikman, is a Southern California kid who’s set to enter his senior season at Huntington Beach High School.

Aikman spoke last year about his recruiting efforts, which many assumed to be about former Bruin Dante Moore, and it didn’t sound like Aikman enjoyed the process. Now with new head coach Bob Chesney in the fold, Aikman is back to lending a helping hand with the Bruins’ recruiting efforts, this time just making a video talking to Edmunds.

“Hope you’re having an amazing time there in Westwood this weekend on your visit. Such a great place, I loved my time there at UCLA, also loved my time in Cerritos, California. I was there up until the age of 12, and Huntington Beach is actually the beach that we would go to in the summers,” Aikman said of the area where Edmunds is from. “I know that’s where you’re from, you’ve had an amazing career. Looking forward to seeing you take it to the next level and hoping that’s going to be at UCLA.”

Even though it’s been several decades since Aikman lined up for the Bruins at the Rose Bowl, he remains one of the highest-profile Bruins, with the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback calling games on ESPN for Monday Night Football and having three Super Bowl championships under his belt.
