Trent McDuffie has wanted to play for Sean McVay since Rams were on 'Hard Knocks'

Every player who suits up for the Los Angeles Rams under Sean McVay raves about the culture he’s built in the building. McVay is not only one of the best schematic coaches, but he also connects with players in a way that leaves a lasting impression.

Just take Davante Adams’ word for it. He tells his teammates to never leave the Rams, knowing how good they have it in LA.

Trent McDuffie has only been a member of the Rams for a day but he’s wanted to play for McVay since 2020. He told reporters in his introductory press conference on Thursday that he wished he could play for McVay someday after seeing him on “Hard Knocks” six years ago.

Unsurprisingly, his first call with McVay quickly turned into a football discussion after some initial congratulatory remarks.

McVay is a true player’s coach, someone who prioritizes building relationships with everyone in the building. He’s a remarkable leader, too, which makes it easy for players to get excited about going to work every day.

McDuffie is going to love playing for McVay in Los Angeles, and it helps that he gets to reconnect with his former college head coach and DBs coach, Jimmy Lake, too.

It’s easy to see why McDuffie is thrilled to be a member of the Rams, from his connections to Puka Nacua and Lake, to his early impressions of McVay.
