Coming off their first loss in Las Vegas on Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors quickly bounced back in winning fashion in their Summer League finale on Thursday night against the newly crowned NBA champion New York Knicks.
Led by LJ Cryer, five different members of the Warriors tallied 11 or more points on the way to an 87-77 win over the Knicks. Cryer scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting with five made 3-pointers to go along with five assists and four rebounds in 27 minutes.
Rookie big man Graham Ike impressed with a near double-double effort. The former Gonzaga Bulldog notched 15 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field with nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
Malevy Leons and second-round pick Lajae Jones each tallied 13 points in Golden State’s victory over the Knicks.
For the first time in the Summer League, rookie Yaxel Lendeborg struggled, scoring just three points on 1-of-9 shooting from the field and 1-of-6 shooting from deep. Lendeborg added six assists and six rebounds in 27 minutes against the Knicks.
With a win on Thursday and a 3-1 record in the desert, the Warriors punched their ticket to the Summer League semi-finals with help from a point differential tiebreaker. The Warriors will meet the No. 1 seed Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday in Las Vegas.
