Even with triple-digit temperatures in Palm Springs, nothing could deter Splash House attendees from having a fun time by the pool.
The EDM festival runs over two weekends, from Friday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 9, and then again Aug. 14 to 16, with two different lineups. The event is held across three Palm Springs hotels, featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music, such as ALLEYCVT, Laszewo, Kenny Beats and more.
The Desert Sun was on the grounds Saturday, Aug. 8, when the schedule included Edris Omar, Foster the People, Kenny Beats and Fcukers, as well as after hours programming by The Chainsmokers and Ship Wrek. Temperatures reached 115 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, but attendees at the Saguaro Palm Springs didn’t seem to mind it one bit.
Splash House was founded in 2013 by desert locals (and siblings) Tyler and Kelly McLean and is a co-production of Goldenvoice, the promoters behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach country music festival. The festival is Palm Springs’ largest summer concert and draws thousands of attendees during the city’s slowest and hottest time of the year.
One tradition that festivalgoers enjoy participating in each year is decorating their balconies with the funniest and most creative flags, accessories and other items they can get their hands on.
