Authorities have reported 12 homicides in the High Desert of San Bernardino County in 2026.
Six of them have been solved via arrest or the filings of murder charges against a suspect.
The victims were:
Jan. 11, 2026
The body of Krystal Haro, 38, of Whittier was discovered in an shallow grave along Highway 395, north of Buckthorne Canyone Road, in an unincorporated county area just outside of Helendale. No suspects were arrested.
Jan. 16, 2025
Jeremy “Tank” Rosales, 14, of Victorville was shot and mortally wounded in a residential neighborhood in the 12500 block of Glen Canyon Lane, Victorville. Abel Diego Ramirez, 27, of Victorville and a 16-year-old suspect whose identity was not released due to his age were arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, Feb. 2. Ramirez has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.
Jan. 16, 2026
Jessie Moore, 27, of Barstow was shot multiple times and fatally wounded in the 200 block of North First Avenue. A murder warrant was issued for suspect Alyse Brown, 36, of Barstow, who remains at large and is considered “armed and dangerous.”
Jan. 23, 2026
Karla D. Jett, 65, of Piñon Hills was killed in a car crash allegedly caused by a drunken driver along Highway 138 at Mountain Road in Piñon Hills. Alleged repeat DUI offender Francisco Jeremias Massac, 26, of Fontana was arrested and charged with murder, DUI and driving on a suspended license stemming from a prior DUI conviction. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Jan. 27, 2026
Brandon Daoutis, 38, of Lucerne Valley was fatally stabbed in a remote neighborhood in the 10900 block of 5th Avenue in Lucerne Valley. His girlfriend, 39-year-old Jeanette Rocha of Lucerne Valley, was arrested on suspicion of murder. She had pleaded not guilty in the case.
Feb. 15, 2026
Dajon Session, 26, of Adelanto was found shot to death in the street the 11200 block of Auburn Avenue in Adelanto. No suspects were arrested.
Feb. 20, 2026
Ayanna Smith, 48, and Annaya Scott, 26, both of Cerritos, were shot to death at a home in the 13000 block of Sundown Road in Victorville. A man was also wounded in the shooting. Sydney Phelipe Smith, 46, of Victorville , described as a family member of the victims, was arrested and has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and attempted murder.
March 20, 2026
Sheldon Davis, 34, of Barstow was shot to death at an apartment complex in the 200 N. Yucca Avenue in Barstow. No suspects were arrested.
March 29, 2026
Elias Victor Marcell Brooks, 22, of Victorville, was shot multiple times in a residential neighborhood in the 13700 block of Starshine Drive in Victorville. He died from his wounds at a hospital two days later on Tuesday, March 31. No suspects were arrested.
April 1, 2026
Angelo Chaparro, 18, of Adelanto was found fatally shot in the area of Chamberlaine Way and Jonathan Street. The killing was believed to be related to another reported around the same time a little more than 2 miles away. No suspects were arrested.
Elias Alonso, 33, of Adelanto was discovered fatally shot in a driveway in the 10400 block of Cimerron Trail Drive. The killing was believed to be related to another reported around the same time a little more than 2 miles away. No suspects were arrested.
