It’s May 5 – a primary Election Day – when voters do their civic duty and cast a ballot for our future leaders. But only in Ohio and Indiana.
If any Kentuckians go to the polls today, well, they’re two weeks early.
The primary election is on May 19 in the Bluegrass State.
If you’re confused, you’re not alone
In the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana area, it’s easy to get confused about which state is hosting elections and when.
Last November, Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams posted on X, “We’re getting calls about polls being closed. They are closed because we do not have elections today.” Ohio held elections in November 2025 for local offices like mayor and school board; Kentucky did not have elections.
