The Watkins Memorial baseball team erased a 5-0 deficit on May 26, but the Warriors ultimately saw their season end in disappointing fashion.
Visiting No. 9 Dublin Scioto scored a run in the top of the eighth inning, sending No. 4 Watkins to a 6-5 defeat in a Division II district semifinal. The Warriors had trailed 5-0 in the third inning before fighting back, scoring two in the bottom of the third and three in the fourth.
Parker Waltz came off the bench to lead the Warriors (15-11) with two doubles and two RBIs, and Cam Burt and Dylan Gray added two hits and a run apiece and Tanner Neal a hit and an RBI. Burt also struck out four and allowed four hits and an unearned run in 5⅓ innings.
