The man who was killed last week in a single-vehicle collision southwest of Redding was Aydin Troy Facey, 25, of Igo, the Shasta County Coroner’s Office said Monday.
The deadly collision was reported around 11 p.m. on March 12 on Clear Creek Road east of Dredge Lane, the California Highway Patrol said.
Investigators said Facey was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla east on Clear Creek Road at a high rate of speed when for unknown reasons, the sedan left the road and struck some trees.
The force of the collision caused major damage to the front end of the car and killed Facey, the CHP said. Investigators said Facey was wearing a seatbelt.
