The 100th anniversary celebration of the Mother Road will include the “Route 66 Big Party Bash” at the vintage roadhouse The Barn Route 66 in Newberry Springs.
Hosted by the Newberry Springs Chamber of Commerce, the festivities are from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on May 2 and will include a full day of activities celebrating the history of Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica. The party includes classic cars, pin-up girls, gunslingers and a contest for the best cars and guests dressed in vintage attire at the barn located east of Barstow.
The live music and entertainment lineup includes June Clivas & The Ditty Boys, Ryan Bodine, Desert Spirits, Lety Rivera, Latin Express, Southern Spirit, the Route 66 Tappers and more.
There will also be helicopter rides, a vintage stagecoach, vendors and food trucks.
The Kids Tent will include gold panning, face painting, balloon sculptures, family games and classic car photo opportunities.
