Rams waive UDFA rookie with injury settlement

The Los Angeles Rams are moving on from 2026 undrafted free agent offensive lineman Chad Lindberg. The team announced it waived Lindberg with an injury settlement on Wednesday.

Lindberg, 24, was placed on injured reserve earlier in June alongside outside linebacker Eddie Walls II. Both were among the Rams’ 18 UDFAs for the 2026 season.

Lindberg joined the Rams after going to school at North Carolina. He previously played three seasons at Georgia and was a teammate of Rams quarterback Stetson Bennett during the Bulldogs championship runs in 2021 and 2022. Lindberg also played one season at Rice before he finished his career at UNC.

It’s unclear how likely Lindberg was to make the 53-man roster ahead of the 2026 season. The Rams have a lot of experienced lineman on the roster right now, so Lindberg’s path before his injury would have been steep.

Now, he can focus on rehabbing and getting back onto the field in the future.
