Person killed in Apple Valley two-vehicle wreck

A person died following a crash between a pickup truck and a car along Highway 18 near Apple Valley on Monday afternoon, officials said.

The crash was first reported just after 6:20 p.m. April 20 on the highway at Bear Valley Road, in an unincorporated area just outside of Apple Valley, according to California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department logs.

A blue pickup truck and a black Subaru were involved in an T-bone collision in the intersection.

One person died at the scene, according to initial reports from the scene.

At least one additional person was being treated for injuries.

The CHP shut down the eastbound lanes of Highway 18 for the investigation.

No further details were available.
