Oak Park Ice Rink opens for the summer with public sessions

Stockton Live recently announced Oak Park Ice Rink will offer a “cool escape” throughout the summer with public skating sessions.

Oak Park Ice Rink is located at 3545 Alvarado Ave., in Stockton. The ice skating rink opened in 1970. It replaced the former arena that ceased operations at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds, according to the Oak Park Ice Rink website.

“Public skating sessions are available throughout the summer, providing a unique way to stay active and beat that Stockton heat,” Stockton Live wrote in a statement.

Stockton’s Oak Park Ice Rink is one of a “handful of public ice skating rinks in California,” according to the ice skating rink website.

What’s the Oak Park Ice Rink schedule?

Oak Park Ice Rink will be closed for maintenance work starting on Saturday, July 4 through Friday, July 10. It will open back up at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, with a public session.

How much does it cost to skate at Oak Park Ice Rink?

The cost for public sessions range in price.

Weekday public sessions are $10 per person for anyone 5 years old and over. Weekend public sessions are $16 per person for anyone 5 years old and over. Prices include the rental of the skates.

“Schedule and pricing subject to change based on events,” the Oak Park Ice Rink website states.

There are also discounts available for military, seniors and students.

In her childhood, 2026 Olympic champion, Alyssa Liu, skated at Oak Park Ice Rink, according to Oak Park Ice Rink.

“Fun local throwback: Alyssa skated right here at Oak Park Ice Rink back in 2015 during the Central California Interclub Association Competition,” Oak Park Ice Rink said in a post.

“Whether guests are experienced skaters or stepping onto the ice for the first time, Oak Park Ice Rink welcomes skaters of all ages and skill levels,” Stockton Live said. “Public skating sessions offer an affordable and family-friendly activity, making the Ice Rink a popular destination during the summer months.”
