Micah's 5 things to expect for the Trojans in Week 1 vs Missouri State

We are just a day away from kickoff for the USC Trojans as they face Missouri State in Week 1. This will be a good game to get a feel for how this Trojan team will look this season.

I think we will see dominance on both side of the ball due to how well balanced this year’s Trojans team is.

Here are five predictions I have for Saturday night’s game:

Jayden Maiava connects with Makai Lemon for first touchdown

Maiava is not a well respected quarterback in the Big Ten by experts but I think he will put together the best quarterback performance in the conference in week 1. It all starts will a deep bomb to his playmaker Makai Lemon.

Waymond Jordan Runs for 100+ yards in debut

Waymond Jordan is a monster in the backfield. I think he will fully display that ability, running through the Bears’ defense Saturday. His game reminds me a lot of Ashton Jeanty and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a Jeanty level performance versus the Bears.

Eli Sanders is the first running back to find the end zone

The Trojans have their own version of thunder and lightning with Eli Sanders and Waymond Jordan. I could see Jordan breaking this defense down and an Eli Sanders 50-yard rushing touchdown will follow. Eli Sanders has that track speed that is so fun to watch at the running back position. It will be the first of many long touchdown runs for him in his Trojans career.

Eric Gentry has double-digit tackles

Eric Gentry is fully healthy and he looked great all of camp. He will come into this game ready to make plays. He is no stranger to having a dominant performance. I can see him starting the season off on a high note.

Alex Graham gets an interception in his first game

There has been a lot of buzz around true freshman Alex Graham. I think he makes his presence felt in his debut game with a big time interception in the first half. Last year the Trojans improved mightily on creating turnovers, so I could see the Trojans getting multiple takeaways versus the Bears, one being from Graham.
