A vehicle struck and killed a man walking in a crosswalk in Palm Springs on Wednesday, April 29, police said. It happened the evening of Wednesday, April 29, on East Palm Canyon Drive at Cherokee Way.
Officers were dispatched around 8:18 p.m. following reports that a pedestrian had been hit.
The man was still alive when officers reached the scene. He was taken to a local hospital but died from his injuries. His identity had not yet been released Thursday afternoon.
Palm Springs Police Department Capt. Gustavo Araiza said the cause of the crash was still under investigation and investigators believe the vehicle had a green light and the right of way when it struck the man.
Police asked anyone with information on the incident to call them at 760-323-8125.
