A man was shot while sitting in a car in Adelanto early Thursday, authorities said.
The victim was sitting in a vehicle along with a woman about 12:50 a.m. in the 14300 block of Bellflower Street when the attacker approached in a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials.
A “heavy-set” man got out of the Tahoe and fired at the victim’s vehicle, sheriff’s officials said in a written statement.
“As the victim drove away, the suspect fired a second time, striking the victim in the leg,” sheriff’s officials stated.
The wounded man was taken to a hospital for treatment. The passenger was not hurt.
Investigators found spent bullet casings, as well as two bullet strikes on the victim’s car, officials said.
No further details were released.
