A Victorville man is accused of a list of felony crimes after authorities say he severely beat two women with a glass vase during a robbery and carjacking at a Hesperia massage parlor.
Isaiah Mark Bailon, 26, was charged in San Bernardino County Superior Court on Monday, Jan. 5, with two counts of robbery, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of burglary and one count of carjacking, records show. He’s also accused of numerous sentence-enhancing special allegations, including causing great bodily injury to to a victim and having prior serious felony convictions.
The crime took place about 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Lotus Massage, 15689 Bear Valley Road in Hesperia.
Bailon walked into the business and demanded property from two women working there, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
“The suspect physically assaulted both victims until they handed over their car keys and cell phone,” the agency said in a written statement.
Bailon attempted to drive away in the victim’s car, but was unable to, officials said.
“Bailon then went back inside the business and continued to physically assault the victims with a glass vase,” the statement said.
Both women were taken to hospitals for treatment. An update on their conditions was not available.
Responding deputies found Bailon nearby minutes later and arrested him, records show.
Bailon, who was already on probation stemming from a prior felony conviction, was being held without bail pending legal proceedings. An arraignment hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6.
