Redistricting that was approved by California voters last November shifts Shasta County, along with Siskiyou and Modoc counties, into District 2, which U.S. Rep. Jared Huffman, D-San Rafael, now represents.
The new district’s boundaries span parts of the North Bay and the North Coast, while stretching into the far north interior of California.
Huffman is among eight candidates on the ballot. The top two candidates will face off in the general election on Nov. 3.
The new boundaries take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
