The Los Angeles Lakers host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, and if you’re wondering how to watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.
Yet another game with definite playoff implications is ahead for the Lakers. Thanks to back-to-back losses by the Denver Nuggets, the Lakers have reclaimed third place in the Western Conference with a 46-29 record after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets. However, the standings in the West remain fluid.
Los Angeles is just two games ahead of the Warriors, who are in fifth place with a 44-31 record. It would greatly benefit L.A. to finish third in the conference so that it would have home-court advantage in at least one round of the playoffs and avoid the first-place Oklahoma City Thunder until the Western Conference Finals.
Golden State got a major shot in the arm nearly two months ago when it traded for six-time All-Star forward Jimmy Butler. Since Butler made his debut with the team, it has gone 19-5, and Stephen Curry has looked revitalized. Curry was at his best in a Tuesday win over the Memphis Grizzlies with 52 points, 32 of which he scored in the first half, and 12 made 3-pointers.
Some have felt recently that the Warriors are now dark-horse championship contenders thanks to Butler’s arrival and their subsequent extended hot streak.
The Lakers currently lead the season series against the Warriors three games to none.
