The UFL season has wrapped up, leaving several players looking for teams to catch on with in the NFL before training camps open up next month.
Among that group are many former San Francisco 49ers, including wide receiver Tay Martin, and on Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the wideout is getting another shot in the NFL with the Detroit Lions.
Martin, 28, played collegiately at Washington State from 2017-19 and Oklahoma State from 2020-21, earning All-Big 12 honors once. He signed with the 49ers in 2022 as an undrafted rookie and spent two years with the team, appearing in three games.
After leaving the 49ers, he had one-year stints with the Tennessee Titans and Washington Commanders. In 10 games in the UFL with the Columbus Aviators this year, he caught 42 passes for 483 yards and two touchdowns.
