Last season ended on a sour note for Dante Moore. However, Moore has the makings of being a franchise quarterback once he declares for the NFL draft. Staying one more season shows he has the right mindset for what it takes to accomplish that. He returns to the Oregon Ducks with all the intentions of dominating and winning a national title with his teammates. USC has to stand in the way of that dream.
In a recent article, Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick list Dante Moore as the 7th best player in college football heading into this season:
“Moore surprised many when he announced he would return to Oregon despite projections that had him as a top-three pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Those projections were fueled by his outstanding redshirt sophomore season. Moore ranked sixth among FBS quarterbacks in PFF passing grade (90.2), while his 30 big-time throws tied for the most in the FBS. He also led the nation in PFF passing grade on deep throws (98.5) and quarterbacked the Ducks to the College Football Playoff semifinals.”
Dante Moore proved himself enough to be a top player taken in the last draft in April. Moore had other plans. This season, there is still more to prove as PFF lists him as the 3rd best quarterback in college football. Moore is returning this season with an even more explosive offense and a team full of experience. If Moore has the same exact season he had last year, he will hear his name called early in the draft next year. With the buzz surrounding him this offseason, I think he is headed for a Heisman-level season and the motivation couldn’t be higher. That spells trouble for the USC Trojans and the rest of the Big Ten.
