The Chargers are reportedly “keeping an eye on” wide receiver Mike Evans if he doesn’t return to the Buccaneers this offseason.
Evans is exploring his options in free agency following an injury-riddled 2025 season. He sustained a broken collarbone and concussion, which caused him to miss more than half the season.
The 49ers, Bills, Commanders, and Giants are also monitoring the 32-year-old’s market.
Why Mike Evans Fits With the Chargers
Evans is a thing of the past in Tampa with Emeka Egbuka, who emerged as the team’s top target, entering his sophomore season with the Buccaneers.
Egbuka recorded 63 receptions for 938 yards and six touchdowns in 2025 and the expectation is that he will eclipse 1,000 yards this season.
There are several reasons Evans would make a good fit with the Bolts. While the team’s biggest weakness is their offensive line, the wide receiver room could use more depth.
The Chargers haven’t made it clear whether they will re-sign Keenan Allen in free agency, so that would leave the core without a veteran presence alongside Ladd McConkey.
And thus, the Chargers welcoming Evans to LA could be good for both parties.
