The fund awards grants to nonprofit organizations and public entities through a competitive process, according to the community foundation. Applications are reviewed by a committee of local community members who help identify projects that will have the greatest impact in the region.
The fund, established in 2007 with a seed gift from Pattern Energy, supports programs and services in areas including Burney, Cassel, Fall River Mills, Hat Creek, McArthur and Old Station.
Since its founding, the Burney Regional Community Fund awarded more than $650,000 in grants to support programs and services throughout the Intermountain area. A list of recent awards is available at cfnorthstate.org/grants/burney-regional-community-fund.
