Best potential NFL draft landing spots for Bishop Fitzgerald

Even with great production and years of consistency, there are always NFL draft prospects who slide to Day 3. Bishop Fitzgerald, the USC Trojans’ safety, is one of those prospects. He can make an impact in a winning organization, and with a good defensive scheme, he can shine. There will be a team in the fifth round that takes a chance, and it will have the next Calen Bullock.

Here are the best landing spots for Trojan safety Bishop Fitzgerald:

Denver Broncos

Bishop Fitzgerald, the coach last season, is now in the same role with the Denver Broncos. That is familiarity that will help him with adjusting to the NFL. Both he and Doug Belk know what they need to do for both of them to be successful. With Brandon Jones hurt, too, there is room for Fitzgerald to be a late-round guy that gets a chance early in Denver.

Chicago Bears

The Bears lost 3 safeties in the offseason, 2 of whom were starting last season. The Bears will be heavily trying to fill that void in the draft. Bishop Fitzgerald is a perfect fit to be in a secondary coached by Al Harris. Fitzgerald is a ball-hawking safety who has put up great interception production everywhere. I think he can do the same in Chicago, and he is the perfect late-round steal the Bears can get, all while filling other huge needs. To me, this is the best possible landing spot for Fitzgerald.

Washington Commanders

The Commanders addressed the pass rush big this offseason, spending big bucks. Their steal is reason to be concerned about the secondary, albeit there are some nice young pieces to be excited about. Bishop Fitzgerald, with his experience and production, can come in and compete for a job. Washington can grab him late in the draft and reap the benefits of stealing one of the better sleepers in this draft class.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs could use more depth and insurance at safety, especially after losing high-caliber safety Bryan Cook. Boship Fitzgerald could be a real threat for them late, and the Chiefs have shown they can develop young talent. Fitzgerald is experienced and is about to be 23, so he is more NFL-ready than other prospects that will be great for Steve Spagnuolo.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals went big game hunting with the trade for defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. The Bengals have spent their money on their top players on offense and now on Dexter Lawrence. For this team to get better, it will have to be in the draft. Already down a first-round pick, the Bengals will have to hit on some late-round gems. They could do that with the selection of Bishop Fitzgerald. He is a player who will get the ball back for the offense at a high level. He is experienced and a polished prospect. I think that with the Bengals, he can start day 1, even with being taken late.
