Michigan football doesn’t have much room for error going forward.
The Wolverines (4-2) face the Washington Huskies (5-1) on Saturday, Oct. 18, at home in Ann Arbor. The game is scheduled to kick off at Noon ET with the national broadcast on Fox.
These two teams last played on Oct. 5, 2024, resulting in a 27-17 Washington win. Previously, the two teams met in the national championship game on Jan. 8, 2024, resulting in Michigan’s first national title since the 1997 season.
The Wolverines are coming off a 31-13 loss at USC, giving Michigan its first Big Ten loss of the season and pushing them below the top tier of teams in the conference. With two undefeated Big Ten teams left in Indiana and Ohio State, and with neither of them playing each other until a potential matchup in the Big Ten title game, Michigan likely can’t afford another loss if they want a chance for a conference title this season.
A 5-1 Washington team, while unranked and also suffering a conference loss earlier this season, can be a big home test for the Wolverines.
