Thunderstorms and possible severe weather are forecast in Michigan today, June 18, with high winds, hail and isolated tornadoes possible.
“Scattered storms this morning are not expected to be severe. Additional storms developing this afternoon and evening have a greater chance of being severe,” the National Weather Service said on X. “Damaging winds are the main threat, but large hail and tornado or two are also possible in Lower Michigan.”
Damaging winds are predicted, with gusts ranging from 20-70 mph, and heavy rainfall could cause flooding.
“Average rainfall totals over the course of Wednesday will be 0.75-1.50 inches with locally higher totals (1.5-3 plus) likely,” the NWS in Detroit said.
