The New York Giants will open their 2025 training camp at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Tuesday, July 22.
That is when the team will convene for the first time as a whole, as the veterans will join the rookies and first-year players, who will report to camp on July 15.
The first training camp practice will be held on Wednesday, July 23.
The Giants will complete their mandatory minicamp on Thursday and then disperse for the next five weeks. Head coach Brian Daboll was asked what his message to the team would be in regards to their time off.
“First and foremost, what we accomplished in the OTAs and phase one, phase two and phase three, which we put a lot of good work in, we can’t lose that in the next 30 days. In terms of our physical abilities, our techniques, our training methods, we have to come back,” Daboll said. “When training camp hits, I don’t have much tolerance for mistakes during training camp.
“The season is getting close, so we have to be prepared mentally, and we have to be prepared physically, then we have to make good choices and decisions outside of the building. They’re used to a routine for the last three months and you have to represent yourself and the organization the right way.”
Before departing for the summer, the Giants will conduct something similar to exit meetings.
“When they get here, all the individual coaches meet with each player in the room,” Daboll said. “And then the core special teams guys meet with (Michael Ghobrial). They go through a number of things, things that we think they’re doing really well or they’ve done well on tape, whether it’s free agent or rookie, someone we had last year and things that we think they need to improve on and focus on throughout the spring.
“And then at the end of the spring you sit down with them again, all the individual coaches meet with them again and say, okay, this is what we got accomplished. We said A, B, and C need to improve. Look, A, B, and C all improved, but maybe not as much as C. So this is something we want you to focus on over the next 30 days when you come back ready to go. Or maybe there’d be another thing that pops up when you’re practicing that you talk to those guys about.”
July 22 will be here before you know it.
