President Donald Trump remains underwater with Americans as he pursues continued fighting in the Middle East.
The U.S.-Iran conflict has intensified again, with the U.S. military striking Iran following the killing of two U.S. servicemembers in Jordan on July 17, USA TODAY reported.
Several recent opinion polls demonstrated negative ratings for Trump, reaching as high as a 60% disapproval rating in a July 17-20 Economist/YouGov poll.

The U.S.-Iran conflict has again escalated following the collapse of ceasefire negotiations, with two U.S. servicemembers killed in Jordan on July 17, USA TODAY reported. The U.S. responded with another round of strikes against Iran.
“The strikes will continue degrading Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said in a post on X.
Trump, speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews on July 19, said Iran has been militarily weakened after months of U.S. and Israeli attacks.
“Those great people, those great patriots, were out there fighting that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said of the fallen troops. “Iran has been very, very badly damaged.”
