Recap: Red Wings won't stop believing after 6-3 win over Flyers

Red Wings forward Patrick Kane scored in the third period and then Dylan Larkin completed his hat trick for a 6-3 victory over the Flyers at Little Caesars Arena.

In the second period, the Red Wings scored two quick power-play goals by Moritz Seider and Larkin and Larkin added a shorthanded goal to take a 4-1 lead. Seider finished with five points.

Ex-Spartan Porter Martone replied with a power-play goal for the Flyers.

The Red Wings took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Alex DeBrincat at the 2:28 mark of the first period. DeBrincat backhanded a shot over the shoulder of goalie Dan Vladar for his 40th goal.

The Flyers tied the game, 1-1, on a goal by Christian Dvorak at 13:24. Martone took the original shot from the blueline and Dvorak tipped it in.

Did Michkov just try and do “The Michigan?”

Philadelphia’s high-scoring rookie Matvei Michkov tried “The Michigan,” the lacrosse-style goal made famous by Wolverines forward Mike Legg in 1996.

Michkov lost possession of thet puck and failed to score as he came from behind the net on goalie John Gibson.

The Wings’ playoff odds are down to six percent and they need to win their four remaining games to reach 97 points and have a chance to make the playoffs.
