Football fans headed to East Lansing for the Spartans-Bruins game this weekend will want to wear warm layers in anticipation of chilly fall weather for morning tailgating.
Michigan State University’s Spartans host the UCLA Bruins at Spartan Stadium at noon Saturday, Oct. 11. For fans planning to tailgate early, temperatures are expected to be the 40s from 6-9 a.m. By kickoff, it should warm up to 56 degrees, and then reach 62 by the time the game is over.
On Oct. 4, the Spartans lost to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 38-27, leaving them at 3-2 this season. The UCLA Bruins upset the Penn State Nittany Lions, 42-37, lifting them to 1-4.

Yes, for early tailgaters the weather forecast shows temperatures in the 40s from 6-9 a.m.
At kickoff, the temperature will warm to 56 degrees with partly cloudy skies. By 5 p.m. it will reach 62 degrees. At night, temperatures will fall back to about 42 degrees.
Winds will be less than 10 mph. There is a slight chance of rain during the day, the weather service said.

At 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, the Spartans play the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington, Indiana, at the Memorial Stadium, according to MSU’s football schedule.
