Michigan football lands three-star 2027 linebacker Brayden Watson

Michigan football wasn’t done adding talent on the recruiting trail during its red hot month of May.

The Wolverines landed three-star class of 2027 linebacker Brayden Watson out of Buford, Georgia (Buford) on Friday, May 29, he shared on his Instagram. Watson, who stands 6 feet 3 and 200 pounds, is the No. 39 linebacker in the country, No. 61 player in Georgia and the No. 505 prospect in the nation among rising seniors, per 247 Sports’ composite rankings.

Watson held nearly 20 Division I offers and chose U-M over schools like Oregon, USC, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. The news comes just one day after U-M target Ethan Hauser pledged to Vanderbilt instead of the Wolverines.

Watson is the first linebacker to pledge to Michigan and linebacker coach Alex Whittingham in the Class of 2027, the 11th pledge in the month of May and the 16th commit overall to new coach Kyle Whittingham, the father of Alex.

U-M now holds the No. 11 ranked class in the country.
