A collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle in Hesperia on Thursday left a rider dead and his passenger seriously injured.
The wreck took place about 1:25 p.m. May 28 at Live Oak Street and Choiceana Avenue, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a motorcycle traveling northbound on Choiceana Avenue collided with a vehicle within the intersection,” the agency said in a written statement.
The motorcycle rider, as well as a 44-year-old Hesperia woman riding as a passenger, were hospitalized with major injuries.
“Despite life-saving efforts, the male rider later succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision,” the statement said. He was identified by coroner’s officials as Pablo Hermoso, 47, of Hesperia.
An update on the passenger’s condition was not available.
Investigators said the driver of the involved vehicle “remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.”
The investigation was ongoing.
