Meet the 2026 all-Livingston County boys track and field team

The 2026 all-Livingston County boys track and field team includes four all-state individuals and an all-state relay team. One other athlete missed all-state by one place.

Brighton leads the way with four first-team individuals and three of the four first-team relays. While Fowlerville didn’t have much team success, the Gladiators had three outstanding individuals who made the first team.

Mason Gay

► School: Brighton

► Class: Junior

► Events: Sprints

► Accomplishments: Gay was the top sprinter in the county, but branched out to the 400 at midseason and may have found his niche. Gay was second at regionals in the 400 in a county-best 49.72 seconds, qualifying for the state meet. He also led the county with a time of 22.80 in the 200 and was second with an 11.22 in the 100. He won seven races in dual meets.

Ronan Poe

► School: Hartland

► Class: Senior

► Events: Sprints

► Accomplishments: Poe’s time of 22.98 in the 200 ranked second in the county and his 100 time of 11.30 was third. He swept the 100 and 200 and was on the winning 400 relay in a dual meet against Howell.

Blake Kulesza

► School: Brighton

► Class: Junior

► Events: Middle distance

► Accomplishments: Kulesza made all-state in the 800 by placing sixth at the Division 1 finals in 1:55.01. His time of 1:53.89 against Northville ranks him fourth on the county’s all-time 800 list. Kulesza was the KLAA and regional champion in the 800. He also ran a 50.87 400 and 4:29.08 1,600.

James Uphouse

► School: Pinckney

► Class: Senior

► Events: Middle distance

► Accomplishments: An injury ended Uphouse’s season after April 21. He was poised to have an outstanding senior year after running 48.98 indoors for the 400 and placing fourth at the indoor state meet in 49.53. His fastest 400 for Pinckney this spring was 50.06, ranking him second in the county.

Jack MacGregor

► School: Howell

► Class: Junior

► Events: Distance

► Accomplishments: MacGregor made all-state in the 3,200 by finishing a close second in a school-record 9:02.68. He was the regional champion in the 1,600 and 3,200. MacGregor broke a school record set 55 years ago by running the 1,600 in 4:16.69.

Zach Wyderko

► School: Brighton

► Class: Senior

► Events: Distance

► Accomplishments: Wyderko qualified for the state meet in the 800 by placing second at regionals in 1:57.31. He ran a personal best of 1:55.57 the week of the state finals. His 800 time and 1,600 time of 4:21.39 ranked him second in the county.

Sam Burtts

► School: Pinckney

► Class: Senior

► Events: Hurdles

► Accomplishments: Burtts broke the school record and nearly eclipsed the county record of 14.48 set by Fowlerville’s Kevin Henry in 2004 by running 14.49 in the 110 hurdles at the Division 2 finals. He made all-state with a fifth-place finish. He was third at regionals in the 300 hurdles in 41.72.

Austin Ouillette

► School: Pinckney

► Class: Sophomore

► Events: Hurdles

► Accomplishments: Ouillette made all-state in the 300 hurdles at the Division 2 finals by placing fourth in 38.96. He’s only the second county runner to break 39 seconds in the event, joining Pinckney’s Kurt Reichenbach (38.84 in 2008). Ouillette won the 300 hurdles in five of eight races going into the state finals, including at the SEC White and regional meets.

Logan Bergkoetter

► School: Hartland

► Class: Senior

► Events: Throws

► Accomplishments: Bergkoetter had the longest shot put in the county at 48 feet. 3.5 inches and was second in the discus at 136-11. He won discus four times and shot put three times in five dual meets. Bergkoetter was third at regionals in shot put, missing the state meet by one place.

Sterling Brooks

► School: Brighton

► Class: Senior

► Events: Throws

► Accomplishments: Brooks missed all-state in discus by one place, finishing ninth at the Division 1 finals with a county-leading throw of 151-1. He qualified by placing fourth at regionals with a throw of 150-3. He won discus in all five of Brighton’s dual meets.

Gavin Rager

► School: Fowlerville

► Class: Junior

► Event: High jump

► Accomplishments: Rager’s jump of 6-3 led the county. He went 6-2 to win the CAAC Red championship. He won high jump in three of Fowlerville’s four CAAC Red dual and tri meets.

Landon Aeschliman

► School: Fowlerville

► Class: Senior

► Event: Pole vault

► Accomplishments: Aeschliman’s season ended after four meets because of an injury, preventing him from getting a shot at another all-state podium. He was seventh in Division 2 last season. His leap of 13-6 was by far the top performance in the county this season. He won pole vault in three of his four meets.

Kellen Douglass

► School: Fowlerville

► Class: Sophomore

► Event: Long jump

► Accomplishments: Douglass had the best long jump in the county this season with a performance of 20-9.75 in the first meet of the season. He cleared 20 feet in seven of his 11 meets, winning three times.

400 relay

► School: Hartland

► Runners: Nathan Gibbs (Jr.), Ronan Poe (Sr.), Jack Lansing (Sr.), Jackson Duppong (Soph.)

► Accomplishments: The Eagles ran the fastest time in the county this season by going 44.62 against Salem on May 5. This group won dual meets against Brighton and Howell.

800 relay

► School: Brighton

► Runners: Harry Netherton (Fr.), Jaeden Byrd (Jr.), Liam MacDonald (Sr.), Mason Gay (Jr.)

► Accomplishments: This group ran together only once, but posted the fastest time in the county by running 1:32.23 against Salem on April 14.

1,600 relay

► School: Brighton

► Runners: Mason Gay (Jr.), Blake Kulesza (Jr.), Sawyer Switalski (Jr.), Owen Collin (Jr.)

► Accomplishments: This quartet ran the county’s fastest time this season at regionals, placing sixth in 3:28.24. No other relay team broke 3:30.

3,200 relay

► School: Brighton

► Runners: Owen Collin (Jr.), Zach Wyderko (Sr.), Evan Cummings (Sr.), Blake Kulesza (Jr.)

► Accomplishments: Brighton made all-state by placing sixth at the Division 1 finals with a time of 7:54.47, which ranks this team 11th in county history. The Bulldogs were second in the KLAA and regional meets.
