COLDWATER, MI — The Farmers’ Market opened for another year on Saturday, June 28, running through Sept. 28 in the shade of the northwest quadrant of Four Corners Park.
“We are sticking to our mission of providing Coldwater with high-quality locally grown produce and sustainable practices and increasing food access to our community,” market manager Kim Kohl said.
The number of vendors signed up is a record, with more expected as crops are harvested in the coming weeks.
The market offers entertainment from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday.
Cut flower bouquets, duck eggs, stained glass, baked Amish goods, Union City Rotary maple syrup, and just-picked produce filled the stands this week.
The Branch County Community Foundation offers shoppers the opportunity to donate to the market in exchange for reusable, insulated shopping bags when they visit the market, thereby helping to support the market.
There are 19 vendors registered.
“Seasonal and drop-in vendor applications are still being accepted through the market website,” Kohl said.
