Comerica Park has always been a special place for Grant Wolfram.
As a kid, the Holland native and Hamilton High School graduate, grew up watching the Tigers.
It took a big step last year when Wolfram made his major league debut at Comerica Park, pitching for the Baltimore Orioles.
Wolfram’s Comerica Park memories continued on Monday, July 27, as he earned the win in relief when Baltimore beat Detroit 8-5. He faced four hitters – all All-Stars – and got them all out in order.
Wolfram improved to 3-2 on the season after pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings. He struck out two, walked none and didn’t give up a hit.
He entered the game with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning and struck out Tigers All-Star Kevin McGonigle swinging.
In the seventh, he got All-Star catcher Dillon Dingler to fly out before striking out former All-Star Gleyber Torres looking and getting All-Star Riley Greene to fly out to center to end the inning.
