Chick-fil-A has received approval for a drive-thru expansion in Holland Township.
The restaurant’s current layout has two lanes for ordering, which merge into a single food delivery lane. The change allows two lanes throughout for faster meal delivery, reducing vehicle stacking on public streets and promoting overall safety and convenience for customers and employees — according to Chick-fil-A.
The company received site plan approval from the Holland Township Planning Commission on May 12, although the business must reach an agreement with zoning staffers on the width of the lanes (the debate is currently between nine and ten feet).
The green light comes after a lengthy approval process. The proposal is complicated because it encompasses two adjacent parcels — Chick-fil-A and Quality Car Wash — which have an easement agreement to make the project possible.
The popular fried chicken fast-food restaurant opened in February 2018, and has made several improvements to the drive-thru since.
