A weekly feature showcasing local artists
Name: Ghost Town Marshalls
Sound: Country, rock
Lineup: Kimberly Spears, vocals and keyboards; Phil Figlioli, guitar; Ron Frank, bass; Joe Goleski, drums and vocals.
History: The band formed in the Detroit area in 2022 when Spears answered the guys’ Facebook ad looking for a singer. The band says there was an immediate connection. “People told me I was nuts for going to a stranger’s basement for a blind audition,” Spears said in a press release about their new single, adding that it ended up being one of the best decisions she ever made. “We’ve been like family ever since.” They say the band name pays homage to Marshall amps.
The latest: Ghost Town Marshalls recently released the single “Double,” which they describe as a feel-good anthem that is “built for open-air bars, cold drinks and the kind of nights that make you forget about work.” You can kick it with the band at one of their many shows booked in Michigan this summer. Find them at Whaleans in Standish on Saturday. They’ll be closer to Metro Detroit on June 27 with a night at Billy’s Tip N Inn in White Lake Township. The foursome is also scheduled to close out the first night of Royal Oak Taco Fest at 10 p.m. on July 2.
