Per Pro Football Newsroom’s James Larsen, the Detroit Lions are signing Louisville Kings wide receivers Lucky Jackson and Tarik Black.
The pair are fresh off a UFL championship with the Kings. In its inaugural season, Louisville downed the DC Defenders, 27-20, to capture the UFL title.
Jackson, a Western Kentucky alum, has spent much of the past three seasons as a member of the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad, appearing in three games with the Vikings in 2023.
A 6-foot, 182-pound receiver, Jackson caught 32 passes for 392 yards and two touchdowns this spring with the Kings. During his collegiate career at Western Kentucky, Jackson registered 210 receptions for 2,691 yards and 13 touchdowns. Prior to his time in Minnesota, Jackson played in the CFL and XFL.
Black began his college career at Michigan before finishing at Texas. A 6-foot-2, 213-pound receiver, Black totaled 27 receptions for 388 yards and three scores this spring with the Kings.
In college, Black caught 50 passes for 747 yards and three touchdowns. After going undrafted in 2021, Black has spent time as part of the Colts, Jets, Ravens, Steelers and Dolphins’ organizations.
Black has appeared in one career game, catching one pass for 10 yards in a Week 18 contest with the Jets against the Buffalo Bills.
